Mini Beer Festivals

Beer festivals are a great way of introducing drinkers to cask ales they would normally never get the chance to try. When many draught ales are offered the drinker will try a number of ales rather than stick to the same old beer. Beer festivals grow ever more popular with most major towns and cities having their own festivals sometimes twice a year. It is not unusual for beer festivals to feature 100’s of cask ales, Peterborough festival which is the second biggest in the country offers over 500 ales! The great British Beer Festival or GBBF celebrated it’s 30th anniversary in 2007 and continues to go from strength to strength. Being crowned supreme champion of the festival can ensure bumper sales for the winning brewery. Beer festivals are a simple idea that seems to generate interest with even the most infrequent of draught ale drinker. Many beer festivals are held to raise money for charities and who wouldn’t dip their hand in their pocket to help a good cause while quenching their thirst at the same time. It just goes to prove that despite what the major brewers say, draught ale is a growth market with a strong following.

The beer festival format can also be reproduced in pubs and even for home parties using polypins, we have over 120 different cask ales, which would provide enough choice for any drinker. We have a full range including traditional mild, IPA, Porter and traditional stout. A mini beer festival would be an ideal party theme and as polypins come as small as 18 pints a large choice could be offered for a reasonable cost. As polypins require very little work and have their own dispense tap they are ideal for the beer festival format, usually cask ale for beer festivals has to be sourced from a beer wholesaler, local beer supplier or local small breweries. Not only are polypins easy to use but they have a very long shelf life as no air can reach the draught ale, ensuring none of your beer goes to waste. If you don’t have access to the venue until the day of the event we can supply the draught ale bright (no sediment) to eliminate the need for settling time. We can supply cask ale for events, beer for parties, and any other outside event.

Another important feature of a successful beer festival is traditional cider and we have 5 high quality ciders available. English scrumpy cider popularity has rocketed over the last couple of years and interest in this age old drink is at an all time high.

Unfortunately we cannot provide those strange lite beers from the US but we do have EKU Bavarian Pilsner which is probably the best draught lager available in the UK.
