Built by John Boyle and Robin Leighton in 2000, Wylam started with a 4.5 barrel brew length, which increased to nine barrels in 2002. The first draught ales were casked in August 2000. The brewery has grown steadily since then on its reputation for quality and flavour, winning several awards at beer festivals around the UK. A new 20 barrel plant was installed in new premises on the farm in Aug 2006 tripling production capacity. Brew length was increased to 20 barrels with the new plant. The brewery delivers their draught ale to more than 200 local outlets.
